AWARD-WINNING RECOGNITION

Honored as South Carolina’s Best Trauma-Informed Women’s Mental Health Nonprofit of 2026

Best of Best Review

What began as a vision rooted in healing, advocacy, and lived experience has now grown into an award-winning movement for women across South Carolina.

Daughters of Both Suns has officially been recognized by Best of Best Review as the “Best Trauma Informed Women’s Mental Health Nonprofit in South Carolina of 2026,” honoring the organization’s commitment to culturally responsive mental health support, trauma-informed care, and community empowerment.

Founded by Jessica Sanchez, Daughters of Both Suns was created to address the gaps many Black and Latina women face when seeking accessible, compassionate, and culturally centered mental health support. Through initiatives including BridgeCare Navigation, community healing workshops, resource navigation, wellness events, and therapy referral support, the organization continues to expand its impact across underserved communities.

“This recognition is not just about our organization,” Jessica Sanchez shared. “It belongs to every woman who trusted us with her story, every volunteer who stood beside us, every therapist and advocate who believed in this mission, and every community member fighting to create spaces where healing feels possible.”

The award comes during a season of major growth for the nonprofit, including expanded partnerships, statewide outreach efforts, community wellness programming, and the upcoming Healing Together Community Resource & Wellness Fair in Myrtle Beach.

As Daughters of Both Suns continues to grow, the mission remains the same: building healing-centered spaces where women feel seen, supported, empowered, and connected to care.

This award is more than recognition. It is a reminder that community-driven healing matters.
